Donald J. Glasser, Director – Protective Operations

Mr. Glasser is a terrorism expert with expertise in terrorism strategy and tactics, law enforcement officer safety, personal protection, weapons of mass destruction and HAZMAT. He also instructs Seaport Security and Anti-Terrorism to the US Coast Guard.
 
Mr. Glasser served as a Naval Special Warfare Officer with SEAL Team One, Underwater Demolition Teams and the Basic Underwater Demolition-SEAL (BUDS). His duties included Platoon Commander of both conventional direct action and Swimmer Delivery Vehicle (SDV) Platoons.  At BUDS, Mr. Glasser was in charge of the first phase of training for Navy SEAL's.  Mr. Glasser retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves, at the rank of Captain.
 
In 1979, Mr. Glasser was sworn in as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). His investigative responsibilities included domestic and international terrorism, violent crimes, and police training.  He was a founding member of the FBI�s Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), performing duties that included Assault Team Leader, Canine Handler and Maritime Team Member.  During his tenure with HRT, Mr. Glasser participated in the arrest of two Top-Ten Fugitives. He also conducted site surveys and deployments to the Olympic Games, Pan American Games, an Economic Summit Conference, OpSail 1987 and the Atlanta Penitentiary Riots.  Mr. Glasser participated in joint training with most of the free world's counter terrorism/hostage rescue teams including GSG9, GIGN, GEO (Spain), British SAS, U.S. Army Delta and U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six.  He was also a principal in the undercover arrest of international terrorist Fawaz Younis in the Mediterranean in 1986.
 
Mr. Glasser spent two years on the Special Detail Unit responsible for the protection of the FBI Director.  He was also a Supervisor in the FBI's Violent Crimes Unit, which included liaison with the U.S. Secret Service.
 
He has served as both a military and civilian dive instructor and was certified as a National Emergency Medical Technician, a licensed U.S. Coast Guard Master Mariner, FBI Bomb Technician, and a Firearms/ Defensive Tactics Instructor.
 
Mr. Glasser received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, from the University of Utah, where he attended on both a NROTC and football scholarship.
